Ok, so it's been over a year since I last wrote a blog post and a lot has happened. I always have the best intentions when starting a blog (this isn't my first attempt) but I find myself trying to plan everything out before executing and obviously I have a hard time with commitment and can't decide what I want it to really be. What will I write about, how much of my life am I comfortable sharing on the internet, should every blog post have a photo, are people going to read it, etc. If you're a business owner you'll understand when I say that I have spent the past few years trying to make money with everything I do. I have put 99% of my energy into my business and I have unintentionally lost sight of a lot of my hobbies.
Don't get me wrong, I have always been an advocate for doing what you love and I am so grateful for the life I've been living for the past few years. With no surprise, priorities for both Jake and I seem to have shifted since our son was born. We have made some pretty big decisions in the past year with our families best interest in mind which have led us to a slower paced life with more time and energy for ourselves. Since closing our retail shop back in January we have made it a priority to spend time on the simple things that bring us joy. We have been going for regular family walks, I have been playing around with my camera again, I've been baking and most importantly we have been leaving work at work (even though we're running our new consulting practice from our attic). With all of that being said, I've decided to just go for it with this blog. I'm going to stop worrying about what I will write and just share with you what I'm doing. It's been so cool to read posts that I published just before Levi was born and I am excited to look back years from now and read about what we were up to when Levi was little. This blog is for me and I'm so happy you're here to read it. I'm looking forward to seeing how this space will evolve over time and what it will turn into in the future. - M
